Orkideh Torabi

  • Orkideh Torabi’s paintings unfold narratives that blend memory, personal experience, and storytelling, creating a stage for dramatic tension where characters often compete or struggle with one another. Reminiscent of Persian miniatures, her figures sit on different planes, collapsed into a segmented composition. Engaging in both internal and external conflict, her pawns play out the humorous, serious, enjoyable, and troubling parts of life and working within our societal ‘order.’
