Nik Cho

  • Nik Cho’s charged imagery explores and expresses his experiences of being an immigrant from Seoul, South Korea, and a gay man, still closeted to his family. Long, bold, and almost rectangular brushstrokes hold an immediacy, an intimate experience with Cho. Behind the brushstrokes, and hiding behind vibrant colors, is the emotional toll of expressing sexual identity and the everyday life of queer people, itself a critique of rose-colored glasses on queer existence.
