Dana DeGiulio thinks intensely about the relationship between figure and ground, particularly edges as they are touched, felt, and perceived. In her intimate paintings, she returns to similar subjects, but each time, positioned, colored, or illuminated slightly differently. As flowers wilt and petals fall, time travels between her paintings as well as within them.
