Rob Davis

  • As if a moment after someone has sat, laid, pressed, or touched the space, Rob Davis paints scenes void of people. His still lives in oil depict man-made objects arranged for utility and pleasure, calling to mind the myriad renderings of such a scene through the history of painting. With images that are particular and universal at the same time, Davis captures echoes of absence that are melancholic, sublime, and nostalgic.
