Kevin Wolff works in the liminal space of real and fabricated, using paint in a photographic style on the canvas as a vehicle to study — or interrogate — image-making. Careful brushstrokes and the building of light stray from realism into abstraction, but do not abandon representation, the latter of which comes secondary to painterly essence.
