Richard Tinkler works from the grid, expanding on its structure with each sequential painting and drawing, informing future work from past studies. Though the artist takes more time with drawings, the paintings, finished in the span of a day, range from kaleidoscopic compositions to blurry pixilations. The malleable material and rigidity of a grid at times feel at odds, with paint seeming to dance across the surface.
