April Gornik

Oscillating between dramatic, cataclysmic scenes of nature’s strength and those a touch more mundane, April Gornik’s landscapes explore relationality to our environment. On Gornik's part, the artist does not prescribe a specific position, but rather works from the belief that nature is the “Other”: the remainder of the world outside of the self. Across encounters of all types, the paintings prompt the viewer to reconsider their association with the world around them.
