Ben Houtkamp’s (Chicago) stained glass work retains the medium's synonymity with spiritual symbolism, in addition to its specified placement within architecture, but updates in a contemporaneous manner maintaining light as the activator. Here, translucent stained glass pieces combine shapes, line and natural light to reveal enigmatic characters with an expressive nod to nostalgia.
